Federated Member AED Celebrates 51st Anniversary

Company holds trade show March 5-6, with more than 300 technician customers in attendance.

STAUNTON, Va. – Federated member AED (Automotive Electric Distributors) recently celebrated its 51st anniversary by hosting its annual trade show March 5-6 at its Portland, Ore., main warehouse.

On March 5, more than 300 of AED’s professional service technician customers participated in the trade show, where more than 100 manufacturers were also on hand. The next day, more than 50 independent jobbers from Oregon, Washington and Idaho attended the AED jobber trade show.

The Federated Auto Parts booth was a popular spot on both days of the trade show as AED signed up several more Federated Car Care Centers during the event.

“The excitement over AED’s involvement with Federated was evident throughout the event,” said Mike Allen, vice president of Federated, who attended the event along with Gene Jeffries, director of membership development for Federated. “Signage, banners and even the shirts worn by the AED staff proudly displayed the Federated logo.”

Jeffries and Allen presented the 2010 Federated Car Care Center program to the jobber members during the annual jobber membership meeting on Saturday morning.

“We want to thank all our customers as well as our manufacturing partners who attended the trade show,” said Pat Blechschmidt, AED general manager. “We capped off the event with a casino party that blended the jobbers, professional technicians and manufacturers together for a very pleasant, relaxing close to the weekend’s festivities.”

“We want to congratulate everyone at AED on 51 great years and we wish them continued success in the future,” said Rusty Bishop, CEO of Federated. “With over 100 Federated Car Care Centers, AED is truly a valued member of the Federated family and we want to thank them for their commitment and loyalty.”
