STAUNTON, VA — Federated Auto Parts Store employee Randy Lipscomb has been named Counterman magazine’s 2004 Counterperson of the Year. The announcement was made by Counterman Editor Brian Cruickshank. Lipscomb is employed by Pat Young Service Co., a Cleveland, Ohio-area Federated Warehouse Distributor.
“We are thrilled that one of our counter people won this prestigious award,” said Mike Schultz, executive vice president of Federated Auto Parts. “We pride ourselves on having friendly, knowledgeable and hard-working counter people in all of our auto parts stores. This award is a wonderful testament to Federated’s commitment to customer service.”
Lipscomb has been in the auto parts business since 1966. Currently, he oversees Pat Young Service Co.’s 46-store Federated Car Care Centers in the Cleveland-area. He also hosts his own TV show, “Handy Randy’s Car Care,” on WAOH-TV in Akron, OH.
“This is a well-deserved honor for Randy,” said Duke Young, president of Pat Young Service Co. “Randy has done an outstanding job operating and maintaining one of the strongest Federated Car Care Programs in the United States. Randy does any job we ask him and is one of our most friendly and knowledgeable counter people.”
For winning the award, Lipscomb will receive an all-expenses paid trip to Las Vegas to attend Automotive Aftermarket Industry Week (AAIW), the world’s largest trade-only automotive show. He will receive his award at a luncheon held during the show.
