DST Unveils DSTWare 2006

DST Inc., an IBM Optimized Business Partner and provider of end-to-end parts supply chain solutions, has unveiled DSTWare 2006, a new parts distribution business solution. DSTWare 2006 was created with the goal of “unlocking the value of your business,” according to the company.

MISSION VIEJO, CA — DST Inc., an IBM Optimized Business Partner and provider of end-to-end parts supply chain solutions, has unveiled DSTWare 2006, a new parts distribution business solution. DSTWare 2006 was created with the goal of “unlocking the value of your business,” according to the company.

DSTWare 2006 is designed to be robust and vigorous enough to be a defining parts distribution solution and provide an unsurpassed user experience, according to the company. The system runs on the IBM iSeries and leveraging the advantages of open architecture software design. The company is unveiling the new product this week at AAPEX.

DSTWare 2006 uniquely demonstrates the ability to leverage web-based information resources and utilities directly from within the software application, and provides a whole new realm of personal configurability, according to the company. The deployment of this interface between the software application and online resources answers such concerns as the ability of the enterprise to provide additional information to a customer directly from a manufacturer’s website or other online resource without opening an additional browser.

First time viewers of DSTWare will witness speed-enhancement, accuracy and efficiency functionality never before seen in a parts industry business application, the company said. Intuitive user-friendliness clarifies parts ordering and reduces training time while providing the ability to view and share graphic images of parts, even when just checking on a part. This exclusive ability to provide images of parts within an invoice from various sources reduces errors in the ordering process, decreases returns, expands parts line image availability to the performance and heavy-duty vertical markets not served by any single electronic catalog, and provides the enterprise with a new tool for improved communication with customers.

DSTWare 2006 provides management with a powerful tool for planning business needs and sharing information with either customers or peers and the cross-platform technology inherent to the IBM iSeries easily facilitates these capabilities. As an example, DSTWare 2006’s Suggested Order screen as part of the replenishment process provides detailed views and the ability to use the OBDC interface to chart graphic evaluations in Microsoft Excel using any criteria needed.

DSTWare 2006 provides the ability for the enterprise to easily customize its own theme-based look and feel to distinguish and differentiate itself in the marketplace to customers, prospective customers, and business partners.

Hoon Chung, president and CEO of DST said, “Industry and domain-specific business rules were used on behalf of Warehouse Distributors in the creation of DSTWare 2006, so they can achieve a new level of operational efficiencies. When deployed, the superb functionality and user friendliness of DSTWare 2006 will help our customers achieve a new standard of excellence through enablement of world class business processes, while providing them a sufficient degree of freedom to build in their own unique ‘secret sauce’.”
