Director of Marketing – Dorman Products

The Director of Marketing plans and directs all marketing of the organization's products and services to fulfill our corporate revenue goals.

The Director of Marketing plans and directs all marketing of the organization’s products and services to fulfill our corporate revenue goals.

Principal Responsibilities:
1. Develop Complete Marketing Strategy and Plan for the Organization to include Key Customer and Channel Specific Marketing Plans and Programs
2. Develop annual marketing plans for key product lines that drive awareness and/or a competitive advantage to be in alignment with the revenue expectations of the organization.
3. Develop launch plans for new products and releases and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan between sales, product, and product data services
4. Work with customers to gain market intelligence – understand our buyers thru the entire distribution channel, how they buy, their buying criteria, challenges & opportunities; understand our competition and how to overcome them.
5. Work collaboratively with the Selling Organization to provide market insight to the product strategy, and develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates our products in the market.
6. Develop mechanisms to measure the effectiveness of marketing tools and programs, and be able to adjust to maximize their performance.
7. Communicate the value proposition of our products to the sales team and develop the sales tools that support the selling process of our products.
8. Develop and implement the Dorman Web Strategy -  Including layout, customer and end user integration
9. Develop Trade Show Strategy and Focus
10. Manage and Direct the Creative Production of all materials
11. Integrating technology to keep the organization properly positioned to the customers and end users

Secondary Responsibilities:
1. Travel as required to view competitive marketing activities and attend trade shows, customer meetings and seminars to keep up-to-date with the latest techniques and implement them as required
2. Responsibilities will also include assisting in the development of all fliers, price sheets and other collateral documents as required to assure that schedules will be met and quality of information is preserved.
3. Oversee and maintain budgetary requirements

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises a team people made up of a combination product, customer marketing as well as graphics production.    

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:
• B.A. Degree in marketing is required MBA Preferred or other related field or equivalent experience.  Minimum of  5 years experience in Marketing Management
• Experience in the Aftermarket Automotive industry is strongly preferred.
• Experience in leading and developing a team
• Experience and proven success in developing corporate, customer and product marketing
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint) required

Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  Ability to write speeches, presentations  and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.  Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts to illustrate and quantify the impact of the marketing initiatives. In addition basic business mathematics is also a must to be able to communicate in a fact based manner the value of our initiatives.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
