MENTOR, Ohio – Mentor, Ohio-based DCR Systems has entered into a unique alliance with Toyota Motor Sales USA Inc. to offer DCR’s patent-pending, lean-based operating model exclusively to Toyota dealerships that choose to outsource management of their operations rather than operate the traditional model.

Under this agreement, DCR Systems will operate only Toyota-certified collision centers in the United States for the next five years. DCR currently manages collision center operations for three U.S. Toyota dealerships.

For Toyota, the alliance is an extension of company efforts to enhance its industry-leading Toyota Certified Collision Center Program. For DCR Systems, the alliance enables the company to focus its expansion efforts on the 750-plus Toyota dealers in the United States without body shops, providing both DCR and Toyota with the opportunity to quickly expand their networks.

Utilizing Toyota-like lean manufacturing principles in its approach to collision repair, the DCR process employs highly trained/certified technicians using the latest advancements in collision repair techniques, tooling, equipment and process-driven design to streamline workflow and create consistency in guaranteed quality and vehicle delivery.

DCR Systems’ strategic alliance with Toyota Motor Sales USA Inc. comes on the heels of an earlier 2008 strategic development agreement with AkzoNobel, which provides a variety of support to assist DCR Systems in building its infrastructure and furthering the reach of its unique operating model.
