PITTSBURGH — David Dobson has been named president of Alcoa Engineered Products, the Alcoa business which supplies extruded aluminum products to customers worldwide in a variety of industries, including automotive and commercial transportation. He succeeds Veronica (Ronee) Hagen, who was named chief customer officer for Alcoa last June. He will be located in Chicago, Ill.
Dobson comes to Alcoa from Pittsburgh-based Fisher Scientific Ltd., where he was vice president of the research division since 2003. Previously, he worked for more than 20 years for General Electric Co. in key leadership positions in several GE businesses, including business development manager for the automotive sales and marketing group for GE Plastics, general manager of motors and controls for GE Industrial Systems, and president of North America for the GE Lighting business.
As president of Alcoa Engineered Products, Dobson will be responsible for 12 plants that produce or provide extrusions and tubes for various industries, as well as multiple sales offices and service centers in North America.
