TOLEDO, Ohio — Dana Holding Corp. has announced that Eric Schwarz has joined the company as chief purchasing officer. In this capacity, he will be responsible for leading Dana’s global purchasing activities across all product groups.
Schwarz comes to Dana after two decades in purchasing and program management. He most recently served as vice president, Business Development and Global Supply Chain Management at BorgWarner Transmission Systems, a role he had held since 2006. He joined BorgWarner in 2001 as vice president of Global Supply Management, based in Auburn Hills, Mich. From 1994 to 2001, he served in several purchasing and program management capacities at Lexmark International, Inc., based in Lexington, Ky. Schwarz began his career at IBM Corp.’s Federal Systems Division in Manassas, Va., where he served in several roles with increasing responsibility from 1988 to 1994.
Schwarz earned a bachelor of science degree in industrial engineering from the University of Cincinnati, and a master’s degree in systems engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. In addition, he earned lifetime certification as a Certified Purchasing Manager from the Institute for Supply Management in Tempe, Ariz.
