COLUMBUS, Ind. Cummins has named Luis Pasquotto as vice president of the company’s Latin American business. The appointment, which was effective Aug. 1, means that Pasquotto is now a corporate officer.
Pasquotto will oversee Cummins’ Engine Business across Latin America in his new role. In addition, he will lead the company’s overall business in the region as president of the Latin America Leadership Council. In this capacity, he also will be responsible for the company’s business strategy as well as for improving the collaboration and execution across all four of Cummins’ business units EBU, Distribution, Power Generation and Components.
Pasquotto joined Cummins in 1992 and has held leadership positions within the EBU in Brazil, one of the company’s key growth markets. He currently serves as general manager of Cummins EBU Brazil, a position he has held since July 2008. Prior to taking that role, Pasquotto served as director of marketing for the EBU in Brazil from 2000-2008.
Pasquotto was honored with a J. Irwin Miller Award of Excellence in 2007 for his work to build Cummins’ business in Brazil. The award, named for the company’s revered and long-time former chairman, J. Irwin Miller, was created in 2006 to honor outstanding contributions to Cummins.
Pasquotto has a degree in mechanical-aeronautical engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico de AeronÁutica ITA, specialization in Finance from FGV-Fundação Getúio Vargas and MBA from ESPM – Escola Superior De Propaganda e Marketing in Brazil.
“Luis has done an outstanding job of helping turn Cummins into the market leader in the medium-duty truck and construction engine markets in Brazil and in leading the business to record profitability during the last economic cycle,” said Dave Crompton, vice president MidRange Engine Business. “His knowledge of our markets, his passion for Brazil and South America and his relentless pursuit of excellence make him ideally suited for his expanded role.”
