CSK Auto Wins Two Awards at Information Technology Conference

CSK Auto Corp. recently received two awards at InformationWeek magazine’s InformationWeek 500 event held on Sept. 17, in Tucson, AZ. CSK was recognized for its custom mobile communication application used by CSK’s senior management and approximately 300 field personnel. The application provides real-time access to key business information such as comparable store sales, margin rates, labor productivity information and balance of sales information, as well as e-mail and schedule functions via wireless Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs).

PHOENIX — CSK Auto Corp. recently received two awards at InformationWeek magazine’s InformationWeek 500 event held on Sept. 17, in Tucson, AZ. For nearly 20 years, InformationWeek magazine has identified and honored the nation’s most innovative users of information technology spotlighting the power of innovation in information technology.

CSK was recognized for its custom mobile communication application used by CSK’s senior management and approximately 300 field personnel. The application provides real-time access to key business information such as comparable store sales, margin rates, labor productivity information and balance of sales information, as well as e-mail and schedule functions via wireless Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs). The PDA application also furnishes store-specific sales history, SKU-level inventory information and commercial customer account information utilized by CSK sales managers.

“Five hundred companies were invited to this event and we are very proud that we won top honors in two categories,” said Larry Buresh, CSK Auto’s senior vice president and chief information officer. “Putting real-time information in the hands of our managers as they support our retail and commercial operations, translates to more responsive internal and external customer service.”
