CLEVELAND — Datavantage, a subsidiary of MICROS Systems, Inc. and CSK Auto Corp., parent company of CSK Auto Inc., have reached an agreement to deploy Datavantage’s Xstore Java-based Point-of-Sale system. CSK Auto Inc. operates approximately 1,267 stores in 22 states under the brand names Checker Auto Parts, Schuck’s Auto Supply, Kragen Auto Parts and Murray’s Discount Auto Stores.

The deployment of Xstore will permit CSK Auto to consolidate all of its brands on a single POS platform. With Datavantage Xstore, CSK Auto is able to manage its own software enhancements because Xstore’s Java and XML-driven architecture allows for easy customization while still permitting CSK Auto to make base upgrades.

“We evaluated a number of point-of-sale systems, and were impressed with the overall architecture of Xstore,” stated Larry Buresh, SVP/CIO of CSK Auto Inc. “Xstore offered the functionality we required, the extensibility to quickly add new features, and the ability to deploy fast and efficiently.

Datavantage currently supports more than 200 retailers with a variety of field management solutions, including store systems, business analytics, and marketing applications. Datavantage Xstore, developed in a J2EE Java environment following NRF ARTS industry standards and offering many deployment choices, is Datavantage’s fourth POS application. It continues the Datavantage design philosophy of focusing on ease-of-use and deep functionality, while maximizing extensibility and flexibility capabilities made possible on a Java platform.

“We are pleased to add CSK Auto and its well-known brands to our list of tier-one Xstore customers,” stated Chaz Napoli, Datavantage President. “The selection of Xstore by CSK Auto is quite rewarding and another example of Datavantage providing world class products to the retail industry.”
