Commercial Vehicle Group, Inc. (CVGI), has announced plans to build a new 89,000-square-foot corporate office and research and development technical center in New Albany, OH. Peterbilt Trims Production, Cuts Workforce

Paccar Inc.’s Peterbilt unit is cutting production at its Nashville, TN, truck assembly plant, and will lay off some 670 employees after the first of the new year. Paccar said the moves are being made in anticipation of significantly lower orders for new trucks in 2007. PACCAR Net Earnings Increase 32 Percent

PACCAR has reported record revenues and net income for the third quarter and first nine months of 2006. PACCAR net earnings increased 32 percent to $403.6 million ($1.61 per diluted share) for the third quarter of 2006 compared to $304.8 million ($1.18 per diluted share) earned in the third quarter last year. ArvinMeritor’s Commercial Vehicle Aftermarket (CVA) business is celebrating a key milestone this week — the remanufacture of its 10 millionth brake shoe and 50,000th axle differential carrier at its facility Plainfield, IN. The 275,000-square-foot facility has remanufactured brake shoes since 2000 and differential carriers since 1999. To better understand the milestone volumes, ten million brakes shoes are equivalent to approximately half-million tractor-trailer vehicles with approximately 20 shoes on each.
