MONTGOMERY, Ala. Bob Greathouse of CARQUEST Distribution Center in Ocala, Fla., was recently appointed to a seat on the Automotive Aftermarket Association Southeast (AAA) Board of Directors. AAAS Chairman Steve Kampwerth of Auto Electric and Carburetor in Birmingham, Ala., appointed Greathouse to the board at the association’s annual conference in Sandestin, Fla.
Greathouse’s service to the industry includes two years of membership on the board of directors of the former Florida Automotive Industry Association (FAIA). He also served on the FAIA Legislative Committee and is a regular participant in the association’s Capitol Day in Tallahassee lobbying issues for the Automotive Aftermarket Industry for Florida.
Greathouse started his career in the automotive aftermarket business in 1973 with the Midcon Corp. in Indiana. He moved to Florida in 1989, working for a business that was then called Big A. In 1999, it became CARQUEST.
Commenting on the appointment, Kampwerth stated, “We are delighted to have an individual of Bob’s great experience and knowledge of the industry join the association leadership. His participation and contributions will most certainly make us a much stronger and more effective organization.”
FAIA, the aftermarket industry association for Florida, joined with the Automotive Aftermarket Association Southeast as of January of this year to forge a four-state regional association.
