RALEIGH, NC — For the 16th consecutive year, CARQUEST Auto Parts has announced its support of the National FFA Organization.

FFA was created in 1928 as the Future Farmers of America. The name was changed in 1988 to represent the growing diversity of agriculture. Today, FFA is dynamic youth organization with more than 478,000 members in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. The FFA mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.

CARQUEST is supporting FFA with five $1,000 scholarships. In addition, CARQUEST Filters and Gaskets sponsor the Ag Mechanics Repair and Maintenance Proficiency program. CARQUEST also participates in the annual FFA Career Show, which will be held Oct. 27-30 in Louisville, Ky.

CARQUEST also provides funding for local FFA chapters through the “FFA Top Dollars” program. Local chapters collect numbered end box tops from any quality CARQUEST product they purchase and install. For every 1,000 box tops saved by an FFA chapter, CARQUEST will pay the chapter $100.
