RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. The Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium (GAAS) Scholarship Committee is pleased to announce that the Car Care Council Women’s Board will be collaborating in creating an online scholarship resource for women planning to pursue careers in the automotive aftermarket.
Applicants at the automotive scholarships website will now be placed in consideration for CCC Women’s Board Scholarship Program awards to be presented in 2011.
In 2011, the Women’s Board will award at least one high school scholarship of $1,000 and at least three technician scholarships, which includes one $2,500 scholarship plus a trip to the annual Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX) in Las Vegas and two $1,000 scholarships.
"We are pleased to be collaborating with GAAS in this educational opportunity that will not only enhance the Women’s Board Scholarship Program, but will provide female students planning to pursue automotive aftermarket careers a one-stop resource for assistance with their education," said Julie Becker-Myers, director of Automotive Systems Technology, Northwood University, and chairwoman of the Women’s Board scholarship committee.

The GAAS Scholarship Committee recently announced that it is presenting awards to 86 U.S. students for the 2010-2011 academic year. In its 15-year history, the fund has presented awards to more than 1,500 students.
