The Chengdu International Trade Fair for Automotive Parts and Aftermarket Services (CAPAS) is returning for its third year. Show organizers say it is the perfect springboard in achieving business success in the promising automotive market within Southwest China. CAPAS is scheduled to take place from May 19-21, and occupy 35,000 square meters (376736.86 square feet) and three halls of the Chengdu Century City New International Exhibition & Convention Center. Organised by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Automotive Sub-Council (CCPIT-Auto), Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co. Ltd. and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Sichuan Council (CCPIT-Sichuan), the fair is expected to host more than 730 exhibitors from around the world and welcome more than 16,000 global buyers.
Well-known global car care brands including LIQUI MOLY, SONAX and Botny have already committed to CAPAS 2016. CAPAS has made a name for itself as a comprehensive platform for the automotive industry in Southwest China. The show offers new business opportunities and connections to both exhibitors and visitors on the domestic and international stages.
Success of previous CAPAS shows and favorable market make this an exhibition not to be missed
The automotive market in China continues to grow exponentially every year. According to the State Information Center of China, the automobile market share in the provinces in Central and West China has been increasing 2 to 3 percent annually. It has been estimated that the major cities within these provinces, including Chengdu, Chongqing and Wuhan, will contribute more than 50 percent of the automobile market share by 2020. CAPAS is positioned as the one-stop trade platform for the automotive parts and aftermarket services sector in Southwest China and this favourable market is expected to continue its ascent.
The increase of car ownership in China also is evident in the Chengdu region. As of June 2015, car ownership in Chengdu reached 3.39 million units and ranked second in the country after Beijing. Car production in Sichuan is 0.56 million units, a 24 percent year-over-year increase, 20 percent higher than the national average. These statistics provide an ideal climate for an exhibition such as CAPAS in the region, according to event organizers. As the number of vehicles grow in the region, so will the need for automotive parts and aftermarket services.
