BorgWarner said it expects products that make engines more fuel efficient will raise sales by $1.4 billion in the next three years.

Turbochargers, engine timing systems and parts that control emissions will account for 66 percent of the new business. Four- and all-wheel-drive systems will account for the rest.

The company expects $400 million in new business next year, $450 million in 2006 and $550 million in 2007, Chief executive Timothy Manganello told analysts at a Gabelli & Co. meeting Web cast from Las Vegas.

About 75 percent of sales will come from companies other than General Motors Corp., Ford Motor Co. and DaimlerChrysler AG, he said.
