GLEN MILLS, Pa. – Axalta Coating Systems, a leading global supplier of liquid and powder coatings, has launched Cromax Mosaic, a new fully featured solvent basecoat for collision repairers to help provide outstanding coverage, color match and blendability. As part of the Cromax family of products, Cromax Mosaic was designed to provide an alternative to waterborne coatings and meet applicable regulations for volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in most U.S. jurisdictions and Canada.

Axalta formulated Cromax Mosaic to be a virtual drop-in for National Rule solvent basecoats. Early company feedback shows the product blends just like traditional solvents with excellent flake control and fast dry times that are not humidity-dependent. It does not require blowers, stainless steel spray guns, or new waste management processes.
This new basecoat includes a full palette of automotive OEM colors and alternatives, and is ideally suited for any shop that wants or needs to meet low-VOC requirements and values an easy transition, with little training and no new equipment investment required.
Cromax Mosaic is compatible with the Cromax LE system of undercoats and clearcoats.
"Cromax Mosaic 3.5 [low VOC] solvent basecoat is a great spraying product with good coverage, color match and extremely easy blending.
