AutoZone has expanded its partnership with RELEX Solutions, a company specializing in supply chain and retail planning solutions, to improve distribution center operations in the U.S., Mexico and now Brazil. The collaboration with RELEX aims to streamline AutoZone’s global supply chain processes, focusing on operational efficiency and scalability, the company said.
AutoZone said RELEX’s technology enhances demand forecasting and reduces inventory levels, leading to increased sales through better stock availability and service levels at distribution centers. It also aims to reduce costs by optimizing the flow of goods.
Brazil presents distinct challenges, AutoZone said, due to diverse sourcing practices and a wide variety of car makes and models. The current supply chain system in Brazil operates manually and separately from the systems used in the U.S. and Mexico. RELEX’s solution is expected to support and integrate with AutoZone’s operations in Brazil, aligning with the company’s business and IT goals.
Michelle Borninkhof, senior vice president and chief information officer of customer satisfaction at AutoZone, emphasized the company’s commitment to improving planning and ordering efficiency. “RELEX provides solutions with tremendous flexibility, enabling faster decision-making and enhancing our exception management. With their support, we are confident in our ability to optimize our end-to-end supply chain across our global operations,” she said.
Keith Adams, senior vice president of North America at RELEX Solutions, expressed excitement about the partnership’s growth. “This critical step highlights the value we bring in driving tangible business benefits while ensuring scalability and adaptability for evolving market demands. We are proud to support AutoZone in their pursuit of an optimized and future-ready supply chain, and we look forward to a continued successful collaboration,” Adams said.
