AutoZone, Inc. has successfully completed its Leadership Transition Plan, first announced on June 26. Phil Daniele, a 30-year veteran at AutoZone and recently the chief executive officer-elect, has now assumed his role as president and chief executive officer (CEO). Bill Rhodes, with 29 years at AutoZone and nearly 19 years as CEO, has transitioned into the role of executive chairman.
Rhodes expressed his confidence in Daniele’s leadership. “A very special congratulations to Phil on becoming AutoZone’s president and CEO. For only the fifth time in our company’s rich history, we have a new CEO. I am tremendously excited about AutoZone’s future and continued growth under Phil’s leadership,” Rhodes said.
Daniele, in his new position as president and CEO, shared his enthusiasm and vision for the company. “I am extremely honored and enthusiastic about the opportunity to serve as president and CEO of AutoZone, a company that I love dearly and have been a part of for over three decades. Our ability to put the customer first is and will forever be the key to our accelerated growth and continued success. Both Bill and I deeply believe that AutoZone’s best days lie ahead,” Daniele stated.
This leadership change at AutoZone marks a significant moment for the company, with Daniele leading the charge as president and CEO, focusing on customer satisfaction and growth, and Rhodes supporting the transition in his new role as executive chairman.
