STAUNTON, Va. Federated Auto Parts has announced the addition of Automotive Electric Distributors (AED) of Portland, Ore., as its newest member.
“We are delighted to have a quality organization such as AED join our group,” said Rusty Bishop, CEO of Federated Auto Parts. “This addition continues the Federated strategy of aligning with the top independent automotive parts distributors in the market. Our goal is to focus on working with the best and AED certainly fits that definition.”
Automotive Electric Distributors (AED) has a long history of success serving the Northwest, starting in the mid 1950’s as Oregon Jobbers Association and changing its name to Automotive Electric Distributors in 1959. Since then, the company has seen significant growth and today serves 80 members with more than 120 stores, along with more than 500 professional automotive service customers, out of their four locations. AED services accounts throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho, California and Guam. The company supports more than 250 manufacturers including brand names such as Anco, Cardone, Hastings, Dayco, KYB, Raybestos and others.
“The members of AED were looking for a marketing partner that is positioned for the future and aggressive in support of independent jobbers,” said Pat Blechschmidt, general manager of AED. “We feel that joining Federated is the very best choice that we could make in this area. AED is proud to join a group that has some of the largest and most progressive independent members in the country.”
The move to Federated will be smooth, according to Blechschmidt. “Federated supports many of the same lines that we had as a member of our former group and we will be maintaining most of our vendor relationships. We are really looking forward to adding some of the unique Federated programs and are excited about the future,” Blechschmidt continued.
