Atlas Copco Included In United Nations Global Compact 100 Stock Index

The index recognizes companies that demonstrate sustainable business practices and strong financial performance.

The Atlas Copco Group (Atlas Copco AB) has been included in the United Nations Global Compact 100 Stock Index. The index recognizes companies that demonstrate sustainable business practices and strong financial performance.

“Incorporating sustainable practices and increasing productivity has always made good business sense to Atlas Copco,” said Jim Levitt, president, Atlas Copco North America LLC. “We are excited to be included in the new UN Global Compact 100 for our commitment to business and manufacturing practices that positively impact the environment, our customers and our business.”

The Global Compact 100 companies were selected based on their adherence to the Global Compact’s 10 principles and for evidence of executive leadership commitment and consistent baseline profitability. The “GC 100” index showed a total investment return of 26.4 percent during the past 12 months, outperforming the general global stock market, according to the UN Global Compact Office.

Earlier this year, Atlas Copco was included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for the third consecutive year and was named a “Leader” in the FTSE4Good Index, which measures globally recognized corporate responsibility standards in environmental, social and governance practices. Atlas Copco also is a member of the prestigious Top 100 Global Sustainable Companies and is ranked one of the world’s most ethical companies by the Ethisphere Institute. Also in 2013, Forbes magazine listed Atlas Copco among the world’s 100 most innovative companies for the third year in a row.
