ATD Rebrands Canadian Operation, Purchases Integra

From Tire Review

Starting in February, American Tire Distributor’s (ATD) wholesale operations in Canada will consolidate into a new brand, National Tire Distributors (NTD).

Currently, ATD operates nine different wholesale brands in Canada, all acquired through a series of acquisitions over the past three years. These are all being rebadged under the NTD name.

“The NTD brand effectively takes the best of the value-added tools and services from each of the originating companies’ to our large network of tire retailers,” said Mike Kustra, president of NTD. “This new name proudly symbolizes the company’s goal of being Canada’s leading service provider in the tire distribution segment in all markets served, nationally, regionally and locally.”

NTD will be headquartered in Burlington, Ontario, with regional offices in Edmonton, Alberta; St. Laurent, Quebec; Dartmouth, Nova Scotia; and Burlington. NTD officials said this alignment will help the company “service unique geographic needs.”

NTD operations will include 25 distribution centers, 60 territory managers and 80 customer service representatives. Before the name change was set, ATD also announced its subsidiary TriCan had acquired Integra Tire & Auto Centers, a retail group based in Edmonton. NTD will own and manage the Integra Tire program going forward.

“The Integra brand will be an excellent addition to the NTD portfolio,” Kustra, said. “We strive to offer our customers tools and programs to help them operate as successful tire and service retailers. The Integra program aligns perfectly with our marketing goals.”

Integra Tire & Auto Centers is an affiliated store program with more than 80 locations. It was created by David Cosco. Under the new ownership structure, Cosco has resigned his role as president and CEO of Integra, and his six retail locations will continue to operate as Integra-affiliated stores.
