ASRW to Host NASTF Fall General Meeting During NACE

Members of the automotive service and repair community, as well as OEMs and representatives from automotive tool and equipment companies, are urged to attend.

DALLAS – Automotive Service & Repair Week (ASRW) 2010 has announced it will host the annual National Automotive Service Task Force (NASTF) Fall General Meeting on Sunday, Oct. 10 in conjunction with NACE (International Autobody Congress & Exposition) and CARS (Congress of Automotive Repair & Service) at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.

The task force facilitates the identification and correction of gaps in the availability and accessibility of automotive service information, training, diagnostic tools and equipment and communications to automotive service professionals.

At the meeting, NASTF business will be conducted, in addition to briefs presented by the NASTF committees: Service Information, Equipment & Tool, Communications, Vehicle Security and Collision. Members of the automotive service and repair community, as well as OEMs and representatives from automotive tool and equipment companies are urged to attend.

NASTF’s Administrative Director Mary Hutchinson said, "NASTF is grateful for ASA’s support over the years in providing meeting space at ASRW. Holding our Fall General Meeting during this event serves our professional community well by allowing attendees the opportunity to participate in the NASTF meeting as part of their ASRW experience. It’s a great way to maximize the travel investment and help to improve the industry at the same time."

The ASRW 2010 events will take place Oct. 10-13 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center (no longer during AAIW). ASRW is a stand-alone event specifically created for all automotive service and repair professionals, enabling even more industry segments to join under the umbrella. The educational program is scheduled Oct. 10-13, a Sunday through Wednesday day pattern; and the exhibits will be open from Oct. 11-13, Monday through Wednesday. ASRW currently features NACE, sponsored by the Automotive Service Association (ASA), the only event of its kind designed for the collision repair professional, and CARS, also sponsored by ASA, the premier event for automotive service professionals.

“ASA is extremely pleased to provide the space necessary for hosting the NASTF meeting during ASRW. The task force does outstanding work on behalf of the entire industry and we value their commitment,” said Ron Pyle, ASA president and chief staff executive. “Through their sophisticated network of services and systems, NASTF’s continued support of the OEMs will serve as a direct complement to ASRW’s OEM participants including Chrysler, Ford, GM, Honda and Toyota.”
