CHANTILLY, Va. and OXNARD, Calif. Two leading international associations have agreed to again co-locate their respective expositions next year. This development brings together the Powertrain Expo run by the Automatic Transmission Rebuilders Association (ATRA) and the International Big R Show run by the Automotive Parts Remanufacturers Association (APRA). The combined expos will be held Oct. 29-31, 2011, at the Hilton Hotel in Las Vegas.
ATRA Executive Director Dennis Madden said, “We are pleased that we were able to co-locate our exposition once again at the same time as the International Big R Show, which for the last eight years has been held in Las Vegas just prior to Industry Week featuring the AAPEX and SEMA Shows. Our experience with a joint ATRA/APRA show in Las Vegas in 2009 was beneficial to members of both associations.”
Bill Gager, president of APRA, added, “Both of our associations believe very strongly that this will provide each other’s attendees and suppliers with some new opportunities and will help them reach more people. Both associations will continue to offer their broad range of technical seminars and workshops just prior to and during the exposition. We are pleased that the Las Vegas Hilton was able to accommodate the meeting needs of both associations.”
Madden continued, “This combined exposition will be good news for everyone. After our joint show in 2009, comments from exhibitors and attendees from both associations were very positive. Both associations look forward to working together to make this event a major milestone in the remanufacturing industry.”
Gager concluded, “We also look forward to welcoming other remanufacturers and rebuilders from a variety of product lines from around the world to this major event. We have been working closely with Engine Builder magazine on involving more builders and remanufacturers from the diesel engine market and hope to have a stronger participation by exhibitors in this market at the 2011 show.”
Attendance is expected to be over 3,500 for the joint event. Complete details of each association’s program content will be announced separately in the near future.
