After opening new distribution centers in Ohio and Indiana new markets for its vast operations American Tire Distributors (ATD) is now eying expansion into New York, New Jersey, eastern Pennsylvania and the entire New England area.
The nation’s largest independent tire distributor said it is “conducting multiple site evaluations and plans to begin opening facilities in this region in 2011.” In addition, ATD said it is actively “identifying distribution center managers, sales staffs and operational staffs” for the planned facilities, and will also begin recruiting “local talent to support this substantial expansion.”
Bob Stewart, a 20-year ATD veteran, has been named as the new regional vice president for the Northeast.
Earlier this year, ATD opened its first distribution centers in Cincinnati, Ohio, and Indianapolis, Ind.
