DETROIT — American Axle and Manufacturing (AAM) has announced that Alberto Satine has been named vice president, strategic and business development. Most recently, he served as AAM’s vice president, procurement. Satine joined AAM as general manager, international operations in 2001. Prior to joining AAM, Satine held various senior management positions at Dana Corp. including regional president for the Andean Operations, general manager for Spicer Transmission Division in Toledo, OH and vice president of operations for Dana Venezuela.
The company also appointed Michael Flynn vice president, procurement. Previously, Flynn served as executive director, sales – GM/Delphi. Flynn has 27 years of automotive and purchasing experience. He began his career as a college-graduate-in-training at the General Motors Chevrolet Gear and Axle Plant — now AAM’s Detroit Gear and Axle facility. Immediately prior to joining AAM as purchasing manager in 1994, Flynn served as purchasing supervisor for GM Worldwide Purchasing. He has held various purchasing, manufacturing, program management, manufacturing engineering and sales positions at AAM including: director, direct materials purchasing; manufacturing manager; and director, GM/Delphi Sales.
