Global Business Professor’s latest audio interview, “Alignment as a Driver for Business Success in Global Companies,” features Hans Kremer, supply chain expert and partner of Inchainge.
In the 15-minute audio interview, Kremer discusses what alignment is, why alignment is important and what happens if alignment is lacking. He also discusses what the consequences of misalignment are; how alignment is connected to supply chain management; and what can be done to improve or create the alignment between company strategy and supply chain strategy.
Kremer holds a bachelor’s degree in economics. He started out in operational roles in manufacturing planning and control, and spent a number of years in the supply chain trenches. Later, it was followed by roles of increasing seniority in various industries, including logistics services, steel, glass, automotive, food and high tech. In those years, his responsibilities included production planning, inventory control and customer service. He also participated in a number of improvement projects and ERP implementations.
Kremer then started his own business in interim management, training and consulting. He became an APICS instructor during that time as well. In 2008, Kremer first heard about “The Fresh Connection,” a value chain training simulation. With Egge Haak, the initiator of “The Fresh Connection,” he started working on international expansion. The career choices have taken him to all continents on the globe, where he delivers training to practitioners as well as (senior) managers and executives. Kremer also is regular presenter at international conferences and gatherings: APICS, SAPICS, CSCMP, Integrated Supply Chain, Tompkins Supply Chain Leadership Forum, LogiSYM and The Fresh Connection events.
Since 2010, Kremer has been a partner at Inchainge, the company that develops and markets The Fresh Connection as well as The Cool Connection, another simulation focused on bridging the physical and financial supply chain. Kremer is co-responsible for business development, engaged in the development of new content for simulations, training programs and trainers.
