NORCROSS, GA — Akzo Nobel is accepting nominations for the 2008 Most Influential Women in the Collision Repair Industry awards. The 2008 program will mark the 10th anniversary for what is acknowledged by many as one of the cornerstone recognition programs within the industry.

“Akzo Nobel is pleased to have been able to pioneer this effort in the collision repair industry and set an example for others to follow,” said Tim Loden, Akzo Nobel Car Refinishes North American director of marketing. “This is an important milestone for the program, Akzo Nobel and the industry. We have celebrated the accomplishments of many talented leaders over the past ten years and we look forward to continuing the tradition for many more.”

Elainna Sacchire, president and owner of Square One Systems, was one of the five industry leaders honored last year. She believes the opportunities for women in the industry are unlimited. “Many women have a gift for building relationships and relating to customers,” Sacchire said. “Many excel at handling the details of estimating and running a business, while others are skilled technically. We can be proud of what we can accomplish and encourage others to succeed.”

The company will also award an annual scholarship again this year, in conjunction with the I-CAR Education Foundation, in the name of the Most Influential Women. The funds will be used for prospective female students pursuing careers in the collision repair industry.

To place nominations for this distinction, please visit www.AkzoNobelCarRefinishes.net. You may also submit your nomination with full nominee information via fax to Amy Lynn at (423) 929-7222 or by e-mail to [email protected].

Deadline for submissions is July 31.

The Most Influential Women will be selected in September and notified via phone. All will be honored at the 10th Annual Gala, which is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 6, in Las Vegas.
