SASSENHEIM, Netherlands — Akzo Nobel Car Refinishes has entered into a global strategic relationship with the newly formed DCR IP Company, LLC. This relationship has been structured to link the vision, strategies and practices of these two collision industry businesses.
“DCR Intellectual Property has developed a unique business model that defines repeatable processes for creating maximum efficiencies within a collision repair center,” said Jim Rees, global general manager, Akzo Nobel Car Refinishes. “The operating model of the business processes that they have created connect beautifully with the technological efficiencies that we have built into our Sikkens products. Additionally, the strategic approach to removing waste, consuming fewer resources and improving quality within the repair process clearly aligns with our ambition on improving sustainability.”
Michael Giarrizzo, president and CEO of DCR IP Company, also commented on the strategic alliance. “Akzo Nobel is the world’s largest coatings supplier. Our first experience with them was as a customer,” said Giarrizzo. “Their ability to innovate and execute enabled us to recognize that they were the natural partner to assist in bringing our new vision and practices to the world.”
