Advance Auto Parts Names Greg Johnson Senior Vice President, DIY and Chief Marketing Officer

Prior to joining Advance, Johnson most recently served as senior vice president of Marketing, Strategy and Communications for Best Buy.

ROANOKE, Va. — Advance Auto Parts has announced the appointment of Greg Johnson as senior vice president, DIY and chief marketing officer. Johnson’s responsibilities include all functions related to the DIY customer including value propositions, customer insights, sales development, market research and related areas. He will also serve as chief marketing officer for the company and will be responsible for marketing, advertising and brand development. Johnson will report to Jim Wade, president, and will be based in Minneapolis, Minn.

Prior to joining Advance, Johnson most recently served as senior vice president of Marketing, Strategy and Communications for Best Buy. While at Best Buy, he also served as vice president of Consumer Marketing and Strategy and vice president of Customer Centricity. Prior to that, he served as vice president of Marketing, International Markets and global director of Marketing for The Gillette Co. Johnson also has held various marketing and brand management-related positions at multinational companies such as Eastman Kodak, SC Johnson, Motorola and Kraft Foods. He earned his bachelor of science degree from the U.S. Air Force Academy.
