AASP Industry Improvement Grants Available

Since its inception, the program has awarded more than $12,000 in grants to fund research into business-to-business data ownership and data privacy rights, as well as a campaign to promote the benefits of doing business with independently owned mechanical repair shops.

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Alliance of Automotive Service Providers (AASP) is once again accepting grant applications to fund initiatives that improve or advance the collision and mechanical repair industries. Grant requests will be accepted through March 31 and will be reviewed at the AASP Board of Directors meeting on April 28.

The Industry Improvement Grant initiative was established by AASP in 2010 to provide funding for innovative and collaborative projects and programs that address unmet needs within the mechanical and collision repair industries. Since its inception, the program has awarded more than $12,000 in grants to fund research into business-to-business data ownership and data privacy rights, as well as a campaign to promote the benefits of doing business with independently owned mechanical repair shops.

Interested parties can visit www.autoserviceproviders.com for additional information and to download a grant application. Grant proposals must have a sponsoring AASP Affiliate and/or involvement of the AASP National office.

In addition to the Industry Improvement Grant initiative, AASP already invests in the industry at the local level through educational grants to AASP Affiliate organizations. To date, AASP has contributed more than $40,000 toward management and technical educational programming hosted by AASP Affiliates. In addition, AASP founded, funds and maintains the Database Enhancement Gateway in collaboration with the Automotive Service Association and Society of Collision Repair Specialists.
