Continental Battery has two Market Development Manager positions available: one in Omaha, Neb., and one in Des Moines, Iowa.

Continental Battery has two Market Development Manager positions available: one in Omaha, Neb., and one in Des Moines, Iowa.

A member of the New Account Sales Team, dedicated to growing market share by searching for and establishing new accounts for our quality line of batteries.  Our line includes, but is not limited to; automotive, commercial, marine, golf and industrial applications.  Knowledge of the use and application as well as the makeup and design of different types of batteries is essential.

Candidate must be willing to learn the battery industry.  Some overnight travel is required.

Responsibilities:
• Support the distribution branch(s) by locating and establishing new customers.
• Seek out and sell new accounts.
• Assist current distributors with their sales efforts.
• Coordinate and assist in new account setup.
• Maintain sales support materials and possess a working knowledge of all product categories
• Train customers on product features and benefits.
• Assist with trade shows, open houses, sales blitzes and customer appreciation events.
• Have knowledge of assigned market and inform management of market trends, new products and competitive environment.
• Develop good dynamic working relationships with co-workers and customers.
• Complete all reporting and paperwork precisely and on time.
• Responsible for assigned company property and its maintenance.

Qualifications:
• Minimum 2 years outside sales experience required.
• College degree preferred unless work experience is extensive.
• Functional knowledge of Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to manage time efficiently and be self-motivated.
• Ability to make “cold calls” and make group presentations.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable.
