LONG BEACH, Calif. After performing more than 30 million vehicle inspections during the past six years, AiM Mobile Inspections has published a report based on customer feedback.
Long Beach, Calif.-based AiM (Alliance Inspection Management) was founded in 2005 as a third-party solution to inspect the condition of new and used vehicles from bumper to bumper. AiM’s national team of 500 technicians are equipped with Panasonic Toughbook tablet computers and 3G cellular capabilities to perform comprehensive, 150-point vehicle inspections and deliver a report within 48 hours of the inspection. Additionally, technicians take the vehicle on a road test for analysis of handling, shifting and acceleration.
AiM has dealerships, auto manufacturers, rental fleets, auction houses, finance companies and consumers among its clientele. AiM’s current clients include Ford, General Motors, Chrysler, Nissan, Avis Budget Group and numerous vehicle auction companies.
AiM Mobile Inspection recently took a sampling of its thousands of customers for their feedback on vehicle purchases and inspections.
The survey found:
86 percent are now more confident about buying a vehicle with a third-party vehicle inspection report.
93 percent will ask for future vehicles to be inspected, even if the seller has a vehicle history report available.
88 percent felt that a vehicle with an inspection report is an excellent or good value.
80 percent said they already knew how to inspect a vehicle.
“For the millions of used car buyers around the U.S. (who outnumber new car buyers 3-to-1), consider this: Partnering with an expert vehicle inspector creates a clear picture of what the car is or isn’t,” said Eric Widmer, vice president, sales and operations for AiM. “Many consumers are well-versed in kicking tires, looking at body panels for dents and even being able to notice that an engine is past its prime, but even they need help.”
According to Widmer, the need for vehicle inspection companies has grown as more and more consumers use the Internet to search for a used or new car.
“People are afraid of purchasing a lemon and companies like AiM Mobile Inspections give buyers a ‘no worry’ tool. Consumers can consider buying a car anywhere in the country because our technicians are in 50 states and provide an accurate report of the cars true condition.”
