CHICAGO Lance Bunch has been named category manager of automotive aftermarkets and industrial distribution MRO for Valspar and its new PlastiKote brand. Valspar announced the launch of the newly revamped Plastikote brand in late May. The brand was originally founded in 1923.

In his new position, Bunch is responsible for creating and implementing the overall PlastiKote marketing strategy, as well as serving as its brand manager. He oversees channel management for the automotive aftermarkets and industrial distribution MRO and conducts product strategy for both the Plastikote brand and Valspar enamels.
Prior to joining Valspar, Bunch spent five years with Trex Co. Inc. in Winchester, Va., where he held a variety of positions. As a product manager, he was responsible for product development, merchandising, operational/financial management and marketing/sales strategy for the newest product categories. He grew the retail presence for Trex to support its position as a brand leader in outdoor living products. As channel marketing manager, Bunch led Trex marketing and branding efforts in all trade channels, including retailers, lumberyards, contractors and builders. He also spent time in the roles of program manager and senior account manager/zone manager within the company.
Bunch’s career experience also includes two companies in Seattle, Wash. He served as a territory manager for James Hardie Building Products and held the positions of market sales representative and retail sales representative with United States Gypsum. Bunch holds a master of business administration in international business from the Keller Graduate School of Management in Federal Way, Wash. He received a bachelor of science in selling and sales management from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind.
