Activant Cover-to-Cover eCatalog Module Registers More Than 6 Million User Visits in March

Monthly lookups continue to set records as more front-line professionals rely on part images and additional information.

LIVERMORE, Calif. – The Activant Cover-to-Cover graphical electronic catalog module registered an all-time high of 6.2 million user visits in March, continuing a nearly monthly series of new usage records.

Introduced in 2004, the Activant Cover-to-Cover module includes detailed product images and additional information – such as aftermarket technical service bulletins, installation instruction files, material safety data sheets, warranty details and more – for approximately 3.5 million part numbers.

According to Activant, two-thirds of all aftermarket warehouse distributors and jobbers use the Activant eCatalog as the primary parts reference tool, with the catalog interface and data tightly integrated into their point of sale systems. Of this total, more than 5,000 WD and jobber locations are already using the Activant Cover-to-Cover module, as are tens of thousands of repair facilities that have access to this additional eCatalog content through eStores, shop management platforms and Activant Value Added Resellers.

“Use of the Activant Cover-to-Cover module has exploded over the past year and a half,” said Tom Aliotti, senior vice president and general manager of the Activant automotive business group. “More importantly, our WD and jobber customers tell us that it plays a direct role in helping them sell more parts and reduce returns at the counter.

“Even with the success of the Activant Cover-to-Cover module, there are manufacturers who provide parts data to us but do not yet provide the product images and other important information that will drive more business for them at the hands of tens of thousands of front-line professionals each day,” said Aliotti. “In these tough economic times, we hope every aftermarket manufacturer working with Activant will take advantage of this opportunity, which is at no cost to them.”

The Activant Cover-to-Cover module is available for use with the full suite of Activant PartExpert eCatalog products, including the new Activant LaserCat 3 application as well as the Activant ShopCat and Activant ePartExpert applications. Activant’s data set includes parts and tire data representing more than 2,900 manufacturer lines covering virtually every passenger vehicle on the road.
