Albany, N.Y. Cengage Learning, a provider of print and digital information services for the academic, professional and library markets, has announced the release of the new Chilton 2009 Labor Guide Manuals and CD-ROM. Available in CD-ROM format or as a Domestic and Import Manual Set, the Chilton 2009 Labor Guide covers more than two decades of repair time information for 1981-2009 vehicle models.
Chilton’s standard and severe service times, plus OEM warranty times are available for many models in the new 2009 Labor Guide. Having access to multiple times allows service writers to be more accurate in their estimates, says the company. Plus, Chilton labor time data conforms to current Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) standards.
The Chilton 2009 Labor Guide CD-ROM automatically calculates labor charges, taxes and parts for total job estimates. The CD creates professional estimates for customers and worksheets for technicians to print whenever necessary. The system keeps track of customers, prior estimates and parts or package jobs for quick and easy reference at any time. New to the 2009 edition is a helpful parts list that simplifies adding parts to estimates and work orders, as well as a keyword search engine to help locate labor operations. In addition, the new calendar feature allows users to quickly locate work requests by day, week and month.
The Chilton 2009 Labor Guide Manual Set is split into two convenient volumes — one covering domestic vehicles and the other covering imported vehicles. Together they contain more than 2,500 pages of updated labor time information. Users can find information quickly with tabs displaying contents by manufacturer and model with manufacturers arranged alphabetically within each volume. There are also two indexes — labor operations and systems — in each model group, and a page numbering system that includes the manufacturer code so users can always determine where they are in the manual.
