McLaren Recognized with APRA Honorary Member Award

McLaren was the owner of GENCO Auto Electric in Central Islip, NY, until he sold the business to BBB Industries in 2007.

CHANTILLY, Va. — The Automotive Parts Remanufacturers Association’s (APRA) Past Chairman, Robert "Bob" McLaren, was presented with APRA’s distinguished Honorary Member Award Nov. 2 during the Opening Session of the 2008 International BIG R Show in Las Vegas.

McLaren was the owner of GENCO Auto Electric in Central Islip, NY, until he sold the business to BBB Industries in 2007. McLaren has been a prominent member of APRA, volunteering his time as chairman of APRA’s Electrical Division and as a regional director before serving as chairman of APRA in 2004.

Guangzhou, China-based smart electric vehicle provider XPeng Inc. announced its vehicle delivery results for April 2024.

XPENG said it delivered 9,393 Smart EVs, representing a 33% increase year-on-year, up 4% over the prior month. The XPENG X9 achieved monthly deliveries of 1,959 units in April, with cumulative deliveries nearing 10,000 units since its launch, maintaining its position as the top-selling all-electric MPV in China, the company said. Year-to-date, XPENG has delivered 31,214 Smart EVs, a 23% increase year-on-year.
