GRAND BLANC, Mich. Consumers can now purchase ACDelco automotive replacement parts without going to the store, thanks to ACDelco’s new Business-to-Consumer (B2C) capability.
As of Nov. 1, automotive “Do-It-Yourself” (DIY) enthusiasts with Internet access can now purchase ACDelco parts from the www.acdelco.com website and have their orders shipped directly to a specified address.
“We estimate that 50 percent of visitors to our acdelco.com site desire to purchase parts online,” said ACDelco eBusiness manager Steve Sigg. “The launch of our new B2C feature meets that need and brings a virtual ACDelco store directly into our customers’ living rooms. Now, DIYers can get high-quality ACDelco automotive parts without leaving the comfort of their homes.”
From a link on the acdelco.com homepage, customers can search for automotive as well as non-automotive (i.e. lawnmower, tractor and snow blower) parts by name, part number or competitive cross reference (using another brand’s part number). Once a part is selected, the customer reviews his purchase, then selects the check-out feature to be automatically directed to the website of the closest ACDelco Warehouse Distributor (WD) that can complete the entire order. Because the participating WD completes the transaction, prices and payment terms may vary, but the customer will see the ACDelco suggested retail price on the screen. Freight charges are calculated automatically on the participating WD’s site.
“The ability to purchase ACDelco parts online is a great convenience for automotive-savvy customers who can perform their own light-duty maintenance and repairs,” said Sigg. “If the procedure is too cumbersome or labor-intensive, though, ACDelco proudly recommends our 8,000-plus independent service centers that feature quality ACDelco parts it’s very easy to locate one through the same acdelco.com site.”
