DST Unveils FleetCross Cross Reference Integration

DST Inc., a technology provider to the parts and service supply chain, has integrated its DSTWare inventory management system with the FleetCross cross-referencing tool. The integration between FleetCross and DSTWare will provide a single system that goes from the beginning of the repair process all the way through to the point of inventory control and purchasing.

MISSION VIEJO, CA — DST Inc., a technology provider to the parts and service supply chain, has integrated its DSTWare inventory management system with the FleetCross cross-referencing tool.

In addition to providing a database that includes more than 20 million cross referenced part numbers, Rochester, NY-based FleetCross also provides VIN based references, technical specifications, exploded diagrams, parts photographs and technical service bulletins.

The integration between FleetCross and DSTWare will provide a single system that goes from the beginning of the repair process all the way through to the point of inventory control and purchasing.

Utilizing an OEM part number, the Internet-based cross referencing tool automatically provides any manufacturer’s appropriate heavy duty or aftermarket part number and adds it to the ordering pick list.

This, according to DST’s VP of Business Development Floyd Beadle, will save counter professionals the time needed to cross-reference using catalogs. Warehouses are saved from having to stock multiple part numbers for the same part.

“The DSTWare integration with FleetCross exemplifies DST’s initiatives for identifying and implementing cost saving and productivity enhancing for our customers,” said Beadle. “It also points out the significance of partnering with a systems supplier utilizing a flexible platform that supports integration with outsourced tools. HDAmerica, which utilizes FleetCross in its stores, pointed us in their direction and we saw a good fit for our customers.”

Jack Schickler, president and founder of FleetCross, said the strength of FleetCross’ cross-referencing functionality is that it is entirely OEM-based.

“By starting with OEM part numbers and cross referencing to them, we are able to ensure accuracy,” said Schickler. “Our clients utilize the system to look up part numbers that are specific to their fleet of trucks by simply entering the assigned unit number of the vehicle and then using the system to cross reference part numbers to their own part numbers. Then if they wish they can view a picture of it so the mechanic can get an exploded view that assists in the repair process.”
