Parts Plus to Award Academic Scholarships to Tomorrow’s Technicians

As part of its Tomorrow’s Technician Essay Contest for registered students in NATEF-accredited schools, Parts Plus will be awarding a trip to the 9th Parts Plus National Convention, to be held February 24-27, 2005, in New Orleans, as well as partial academic scholarships, according to Mike Lambert, president of Parts Plus.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — As part of its Tomorrow’s Technician Essay Contest for registered students in NATEF-accredited schools, Parts Plus will be awarding a trip to the 9th Parts Plus National Convention, to be held February 24-27, 2005, in New Orleans, as well as partial academic scholarships, according to Mike Lambert, president of Parts Plus.

“Parts Plus is not only investing in our future but also in the industry as a whole by presenting the opportunity for one student and their teacher to attend next year’s convention,” Lambert said. “The student who submits the grand-prize-winning essay will be able to learn more about their desired profession and make contacts at every level in the industry, as they continue their education in becoming one of tomorrow’s automotive technicians.”

Four other essay winners will receive partial scholarships ranging between $1,000 to $100 toward their tuition at any school accredited by the NATEF in the United States. In addition, Parts Plus will award $100 gift certificates redeemable in the Parts Plus Tool & Equipment Flyer to five more students.

To enter, eligible students 18 years or older must submit an essay of 100 words or more titled, “What the Automotive Technician Will Be Repairing in 2020.” Essays must be postmarked by November 1, 2004, and received by November 10, 2004. All essays should be mailed to: T2 Essay Contest, P.O. Box 19, Memphis, TN 38157.
