Tower Automotive Creates New Position: Global Human Resources and Communications Leader

Tower Automotive has appointed Sharon Wenzl to the newly created position of global human resource and communications leader, effective immediately. As a member of Tower Automotive's enterprise leadership team, Wenzl will be responsible for aligning human resource and corporate communications strategies with the company's focus on operational excellence. Wenzl also will assist the company's financial organization with investor relations. She will report to Kathleen Ligocki, Tower Automotive's president and CEO.

NOVI, MI — Tower Automotive has appointed Sharon Wenzl to the newly created position of global human resource and communications leader, effective immediately.

As a member of Tower Automotive’s enterprise leadership team, Wenzl will be responsible for aligning human resource and corporate communications strategies with the company’s focus on operational excellence. Wenzl also will assist the company’s financial organization with investor relations. She will report to Kathleen Ligocki, Tower Automotive’s president and CEO.

Wenzl has 21 years of experience with automotive and industrial companies. Prior to joining Tower Automotive, she was vice president, corporate human resources and communication, for Plymouth, Mich.-based automotive supplier Freudenberg-NOK, which she joined in 1990. While there, Wenzl also played a key role in Freudenberg-NOK’s lean manufacturing implementation. Prior to her tenure at Freudenberg-NOK, she held various communication positions with companies in the industrial market.

Wenzl also brings a strong record of community service. She served on the Arthritis Foundation’s Michigan chapter board of directors, and took an active role in coordinating foundation fundraisers. Wenzl also is a past board member of the Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center (MMTC), and continues to actively work with many charitable organizations throughout metro Detroit.
