MEMPHIS, TN — Parts Plus is planning to hold its ninth annual convention in New Orleans in early 2005 and already attendee registration is exceeding past events, according to Mike Lambert, president of Parts Plus.

“We are very pleased with the number of customers registered for our convention next February,” said Lambert. “We have over 75 percent of the available space already taken.”

Lambert explained that the group combined technology and direct mailings to encourage early registration for the event. Customers are also registering early to take advantage of earnback programs being promoted by Parts Plus distributors in their local markets. Customers can reduce their ground package costs dramatically, according to Parts Plus. Attendees can register on-line for their hotel reservations and for the various seminars available. Email confirmations and monthly mailings have also been utilized.

Normally, Parts Plus has more than 1200 attendees at its national conventions, which are traditionally held every other year. The last convention, held in Las Vegas in early 2002, maintained that attendance record in spite of the tragedy of 9/11 and resulting fear of travel. Parts Plus expects that attendance for the 2005 convention will exceed 1200.

More than 30 hours of business seminars will be presented at the convention and more than 135 manufacturers will be exhibiting at the exposition featuring the latest technology and product innovations.
