LAS VEGAS — At a press conference held in Las Vegas last week at AAPEX 2004, DST, a leading automotive parts distribution solutions provider, challenged software providers to provide the automotive industry with improved technology solutions. DST made this challenge in conjunction with the launch of its new DST iEnterprise suite of applications.
DST’s President and CEO Hoon Chung, and VP of Industry Solutions Floyd Beadle conducted the press conference, which included an overview of the company’s IBM iSeries-based iEnterprise suite of applications.
“At DST, we carefully listen to what industry professionals are saying, and we are frankly surprised by the industry’s low expectations of what technology suppliers can do for them to enable the execution or implementation of strategic initiatives for growth,” said Chung. “One major finding is executives of major enterprises are very much constrained by the lack of readily accessible information in making timely, correct decisions.”
DST’s new suite of configurable applications consists of Enterprise Management, Merchandising, Store Management, Supply Chain Planning and Supply Chain Execution. The suite provides aftermarket industry management with the ability to visualize the enterprise supply chain, problem solve through “what if” capabilities, and publish and execute a new set of operating instructions in a closed loop process, according to the company.
DST also introduced the DST Executive Quarterback, which provides enterprise management with the information they need to execute their strategies.
