Hoonigan Appoints Vance Johnson to President

Johnson, previously CFO at Parts Authority, will succeed Randy White, who is retiring after 30 years at the helm.

Hoonigan, a company specializing in high-performance vehicle modifications, announced the appointment of Vance Johnston as president and chief operating officer, succeeding co-founder Randy White who is retiring after nearly 30 years at the helm. White will remain engaged as a board member and advisor during the transition.

José E. Feliciano and Colin Leonard, from Clearlake Capital Group, expressed their anticipation for Johnston’s leadership and gratitude for White’s contributions. “Vance is a leader with a track record in executive leadership roles at significant scale. We look forward to partnering with him and the rest of the leadership team at Hoonigan to drive growth in the platform,” they said.

White reflected on his tenure and expressed confidence in Johnston’s ability to lead Hoonigan’s future growth. “It has been a true privilege to build and lead Hoonigan over almost three decades, and I am thankful to have worked with so many wonderful individuals that have allowed the company to reach its goals,” White said. “I’m confident Vance is the right person to lead Hoonigan into the future and deliver its next phase of growth. I look forward to working with him as I continue serving on the company’s board.”

Johnston, with a history of executive roles across various sectors, including his most recent position as chief financial officer at Parts Authority, brings a wealth of experience in strategic planning, finance, and operations to Hoonigan. He has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Johnston expressed his enthusiasm for joining Hoonigan, acknowledging the company’s innovative legacy established by White. “Hoonigan is an exciting company with passion and innovation in its DNA, and I’m honored to have the opportunity to lead this organization,” Johnston said. He aims to capitalize on Hoonigan’s potential for accelerated growth and enhance consumer engagement with vehicle customization.

Dilshat Erkin, senior vice president at Clearlake, welcomed Johnston and recognized White’s impact. “We’re thrilled to welcome Vance to the Hoonigan and Clearlake family. We believe his capabilities and past experience in developing strategy and operational execution will drive the Company to new heights,” Erkin stated. “We wish Randy the best in his decision to retire and appreciate everything he has done to enable the successes we’ve enjoyed in our years of partnership. We look forward to his continued contributions to our future success as a member of the board.”
