Dayco Launches Two New HP Belts at PRI

The two releases underwent months of intensive track testing with DSR, Watson Racing and Chris Duncan Racing.

Following months of real-world track testing, Dayco announced the release of two new high-performance belts at the PRI show.

The Dayco engineering team is bringing to market an all-new supercharger belt and an 8mm blower belt for street and professional racing applications, after months of intensive testing at the track with DSR, Watson Racing and Chris Duncan Racing.

The Dayco 8mm blower belt was thoroughly tested on pro modified cars and top alcohol dragsters. It features high- strength Teflon coated teeth for cogged drive pulleys and a carbon cord construction for extreme durability and performance on the street or track. Just like its 11mm blower belt predecessor, it was specifically engineered using real-world on-track data that enables it to withstand the rigors of 4,000 horsepower top alcohol dragsters and pro-modified race cars, says Dayco. It will come in multiple lengths and 50mm, 75mm and 84mm widths and be available to order as of January 2022.

The second belt hitting the market in Q1 2022 is the Dayco supercharger belt, with 17 part numbers that cover 150,000 vehicles in operation. This belt is engineered and has been thoroughly tested for use on late-model supercharged cars with light modifications like ZR1 Corvettes, Shelby Mustangs and SRT Hellcat applicationsUsing high-stiffness PET cord, EPDM proprietary construction with aramid fibers and either 8 or 10 ribs depending on application, this poly-V supercharger belt also features the Dayco racing logo imprinted on the belt, the company says.

“Our team of engineers has been working diligently for the past two years in order to develop these two extreme performance belts. And we are thrilled with the internal as well as real-world test results we’ve seen for both of these new belts,” said Jay Buckley, director of product management, Dayco North American Aftermarket. “We are committed to bringing to market products that can handle extreme conditions like those experienced on the race track and can’t wait to see how these two belts help some of today’s drivers level up.”

More than 2,500 design, testing and development hours go into every one of Dayco’s products. In addition, Dayco says it has a dedicated team that works directly with race teams around the globe, providing engineering support and application-specific technology intended just for race vehicles.
