New Plant Manager/VP For Yokohama Tire Manufacturing MS

Phillip Calhoun brings more than 28 years of manufacturing leadership experience with Ford and Nissan.

Yokohama Corporation of North America (YCNA) has named Philip Calhoun as the new plant manager/vice president of manufacturing at Yokohama Tire Manufacturing Mississippi (YTMM), its commercial truck tire plant in West Point, Mississippi.

“I am pleased to welcome Philip to the YTMM family,” said YTMM Chairman and President Takehisa Morimoto. “A native of Mississippi, he brings a wealth of automotive manufacturing experience, as well as a world-class education from institutions across the globe. He has earned a number of awards and certifications and has a proven track record of success.  With his impressive skill set, Philip will be able to have an immediate and positive impact on YTMM.”

Calhoun has more than 28 years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience that cover all aspects of manufacturing with a heavy emphasis on quality and precision manufacturing at both Ford and Nissan. 

Globally educated, he completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan and DePaul University and earned MBAs from London School of Economics, School of HEC France and New York University. Additionally, Calhoun graduated from MIT’s Sloan School of Business certificate program in Applied Data and Analytics.

“YTMM is truly a fantastic facility and Yokohama is an outstanding, world-renowned company,” Calhoun said. “I’m really looking forward to working with Mr. Morimoto and the YTMM team here in Mississippi.”
