Auto Care Association’s 2021 Industry Awards Season Opens

Awards recognize resiliency, leadership and passion during a year of change.

The Auto Care Association has announced the opening of its 2021 industry awards season. 

Dozens of industry leaders are recognized each year through the association’s awards, which are given to individuals and companies demonstrating excellence in the auto care industry through professional development, outstanding communication efforts and educational initiatives for the advancement of the next generation. Recipients of the 2021 awards will have pivoted and reprioritized their strategies during the pandemic which demonstrates their ability to rise to the occasion this past year and position themselves and their companies for future success. All Auto Care Association member companies and employees are eligible to participate.

Impact Award: Four for the Future
The Impact Award recognizes four aftermarket professionals aged 40 or younger who have made outstanding contributions to the auto care industry. The award provides businesses within the auto care industry the opportunity to highlight the success of individuals in their roles who demonstrate hard work, dedication, professionalism and exceptional abilities.

Auto Care Career and Education (ACE) Award
The ACE Award recognizes companies (small, medium and large) dedicated to excellence in education, investing in the growth of knowledge and skills within their organization and/or throughout the industry. This may include employee training, customer education programs, programs for instructor and/or students, and other education programs for the industry at-large. Award winners will be selected by the Auto Care Association Education Committee.

Mort Schwartz Excellence in Education Award
The Mort Schwartz Award recognizes an individual who best advances the concepts and programs for education or continuing education in the North American auto care industry. Nominations should be submitted for the individual’s innovation, advancement or outstanding efforts in education and training programs, or scholarship fundraising efforts. Award winners will be selected by the Auto Care Association Education Committee.

Women of the Year Awards
Women in Auto Care annually honors deserving women throughout the industry with three Women of the Year Awards: Woman of the Year, Woman of Excellence and Female Shop Owner of the Year.

Automotive Communications Awards
Women in Auto Care recognizes companies and agencies that provide automotive information through outstanding advertising, marketing and public relations efforts. Award entries are reviewed and winners selected by volunteers from the Automotive Communications Council and the Auto Care Association Marketing and Communications Committee.

“Winning this award is my proudest professional accomplishment, especially knowing that it was my peers who nominated and voted for me. That makes it mean so much more,” said 2020 Impact Award winner Dave Shapiro, vice president, business development, SRS Sales and Marketing.

The deadline to submit applications for the Impact, ACE, Mort Schwartz and Women of the Year awards is July 2, 2021. The deadline to submit applications for the Automotive Communications Awards is Sept. 10, 2021.
