Autopromotec Holds Futurmotive – Digital Expo and Conference

The event, which was scheduled for today, took place virtually.

Networking through the Web. The automotive aftermarket world gathered today at Futurmotive – Digital Expo and Conference to talk about the changes and innovations currently affecting the entire sector. Company representatives, international experts, universities and trade associations met online to discuss the latest scenarios and economic strategies of the automotive industry and its supply chain. Technological innovation and mobility, a new supply chain model and a circular economic system were some of the topics contained in the Futurmotive – Digital Expo and Conference agenda.

“The impact of the pandemic on the automotive industry, which according to some analysts was expected to put a damper on technological development, has not actually affected the sector’s innovative processes,” said Renzo Servadei, CEO of Autopromotec. “Issues such as connected mobility, circular economy, the application of AI software to vehicles and the digitization of garages and distribution networks are key elements in the upcoming economic scenarios. The Futurmotive project centered on these very themes: the aim was to “gather” and involve representatives of software companies, hi-tech innovation experts, university lecturers and economic analysts along with more traditional sectors such as components and equipment and tires, in order to promote and spread knowhow, strengthen existing business relations and build new ones. The idea behind the conference was to forge a new toolbox for the automotive industry in view of the large physical event we will organize in May 2022.”

The program

The Futurmotive – Digital Expo and Conference event took place live in streaming with alternating discussions on current and future scenarios with in-depth workshops. The format resembled “television” programs with guests who took turns, depending on the subject, throughout the day. Topics included: the transformation of the production chain, the digitization of distribution networks, the economic impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the aftermarket sector, AI developments in the automotive sector, circular economy, access to vehicle on-board data and big data management, cybersecurity, connected workshops and the evolution of infrastructures and service stations. Visitors connected online also had the opportunity to move around the virtual stands set up by the participating companies. In these spaces, visitors were able to access the material made available by each company and chat and/or videoconference directly with sales representatives.
