PRECO Electronics Acquired By Sensata Technologies

The acquisition extends Sensata’s capabilities in vehicle collision avoidance systems for industrial and HVOR markets.

PRECO Electronics, a market-leading vehicle safety technology company, recently announced it was acquired by Sensata Technologies, Inc., a global industrial technology company and a leading provider of sensor-rich solutions that create insights for customers with operations and business centers in 11 countries. The acquisition of PRECO will extend Sensata’s capabilities in vehicle collision avoidance systems for industrial and heavy vehicle on/off-road (HVOR) markets.

PRECO was founded in 1947 in Boise, Idaho, and has grown rapidly, encouraging the expansion of its innovative radar technology. For more than 20 years, PRECO has introduced numerous award-winning, purpose-built blind spot solutions to the market-place, including PreView Xtreme, Side Defender II and the new Sentry X.

With the support of its nationwide network of engineers and global partnerships, PRECO continues to maintain its position as the industry benchmark for advanced safety technologies, said the company.
