Herb Godschalk, president of Fisher Auto Parts, announced the purchase and partial construction of a 420,000-square-foot automated distribution center (DC) in Walton, Kentucky.Now fully operational, the move to the new DC is completed. Up to 250 stores could ultimately be serviced by this distribution center, according to Fisher. It is located on 26 acres, one mile off I75 and 11 miles south of Cincinnati in Walton, Kentucky.

Major automotive aftermarket associations, including the Auto Care Association, Tire Industry Association and Service Station Dealers of American and Allied Trades, the Automotive Oil Change Association, and the Automotive Service Association, sent a letter to Congressional leaders in opposition of a new “Cash for Clunkers” type program from being included in the next COVID-19 stimulus legislation.

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, the automotive aftermarket appeared to be poised for another strong year, buoyed by a convergence of tailwinds – low unemployment, falling gas prices and a growing and aging vehicle parc. But the coronavirus outbreak has altered the economic landscape, leading to fears that business closures and stay-at-home orders could trigger a recession. At the AASA 2020 Vision Conference, panelists offered opinions on what the aftermarket and overall economy might look like.
